Tokyo Bombing Victim Certificate

The Bombing of Tokyo was a series of air raids enacted by the US military on Tokyo. The March 10, 1945 raid resulted in 100,000 deaths and 110,000 injured, with the total number of victims reaching 1 million. Among the victims were Koreans being used for forced labor in Tokyo. In July 1943, Han-gil Nam (1911-1976), who was mobilized to work in mainland Japan along with about 30 people in his neighborhood, experienced one of the raids as he was working for Nippon Express. Miraculously he survived, but 25 of his colleagues died.
